Tuesday

Hadn''t thought about it until now, but....

We live in a small, two bedroom house. Not by choice, but out of our great desire to be free from debt.

Our greatest challenge is finding a place for everyone. We have four children.

Currently, Red (the eldest) sleeps in the kitchen in his very own loft. (It has a "Club House" beneath it.)
Blue (5) and Pink (2 1/2) share the smallest bedroom (about 12x12). The two of them are my biggest arguers ("yes they are" "no they're not" blah, blah, blah).
Baby Green shares a room with Beloved and I. He has a cubby in one corner of the room which is nearly 16x12.

Closet space...???? What closet space?

Elbow room....???? What elbow room?

And the bathroom? The only bathroom... Don't get me started. With two girls, and one that isn't yet potty trained, the bathroom is my nemesis! But it is a lovely Lavendar, and the color makes me happy. That is until you pull back the shower curtain to reveal the butt-ugly mustard yellow shower surround.

All my complaints where not my "Aha!" moment.

My "Aha!" moment came when I realized how close we've gotten as a family. Sure, there are times when closer becomes exasperrating, debilitating, nauseating, but overall, we are more in love with one another than when we moved into this tiny
800 sq.ft. home over a year ago.
Love is what drove us together. Love is what forces us to make amends. Forces us to lower our voices. Forces us to say, "I'm sorry."
Love for one another keeps us together. Not loving the children keeps Beloved and I together, but Beloved and I loving each other keeps our family together.

Do I want more children? You bet.

Do I want more children in this house? ARE YOU CRAZY?

Do I have any doubt that God's plan is to prosper us? Not one.

Am I thankful for being in the confines of this house? A hesitant Yes.

Am I thankful for the lessons I've learned in this pressure cooker? An emphatic Yes!

Will I ever get in debt again after living in this tiny house? An emphatic NO!

Is there an easy way to get out of debt, to remove the debt without having to pay it back? No (unless the debtor forgives the debt), and that would be absolutely against God's plan. We must render to our debtors what is rightly there's, even if they charge ridiculous interest rates and make paying the debt more difficult than miracles. But, God is bigger than the Boogie Man--That I am sure of.
